We asked for your recommendations for Sunday roasts. Thanks for your suggestions. Favourites included:
The Three Tuns, Romsey, a cosy pub offering a ‘scrumptious’ roast including tasty topsde of beef, honey roasted carrots and parsnips, Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese, proper gravy and ‘roast potatoes to die for’!
The Old House at Home, Romsey, was recommended for its ‘amazing’ Sunday lunches, considered to offer good value for money.
The Wheatsheaf Inn, Braishfield, which reopened in November 2024 under new management, has been praised for ‘hot, fresh and delicious‘ Sunday lunches.
The Hunters, Romsey, is another under new management (October 2024) and has since been recommended for a very good Sunday roast with plenty of choice and much appreciated gluten free options. The Bear and Ragged Staff, Michelmersh, is liked for its tasty roast, open fires and access to local walks.
The George Inn, Middle Wallop, is described as a hidden gem, popular with locals. Its Sunday menu includes a choice of venison, partridge and roast Romsey garlic and Rosemary lamb.
