Calling all garden lovers. Are you looking for inspiration? Or would you simply enjoy a day out admiring someone else’s efforts? Local gardens are now open as part of the National Garden Scheme (NGS), This fantastic Scheme helps to raise funds, through garden entry fees, for national nursing, care and health charities. Last year NGS raised a record: over £3.5m!
In and around Chandler’s Ford there are some lovely gardens to visit. Here are just a few:
● Twin Oaks, Chandler’s Ford, open 17 and 18 May, 21 and 22 Jun, 9 and 10 Aug. Evolving water garden with wildlife pond and bridges.
● The Laurel House, Chandler’s Ford, open 17 and 18 May, 6 and 7 Sep. Garden designer’s garden with woodland walk.
● Endhouse, Southampton, open 14 and 15 Jun. Award-winning urban oasis.
● Oakfields, Allbrook, open 14 and 15 Jun. filled with interesting and unusual plants including rambling roses cascading from birch trees.
● Pines Corner, Chandler’s Ford (pictured) open 22 and 29 Jun. Wildlife garden with dragonfly ponds and bee hotels.
