Steamy saunas and cold water plunges have become part of the wellness buzz. But how and where to try this experience? The Revitalise Hub has recently opened on Ampress Business Park, Lymington, as a centre for cold and hot therapy or ‘contrast therapy’ as it’s called. It was founded by schoolfriends and New Forest locals Lewis Butchers and Thomas Webber as the first contrast therapy hub in the area. Contrast therapy promises to relieve aches and pains, and improve circulation and cardiovascular health. The Revitalise Hub features two ice plunge pools and a traditional sauna for up to eight people. The pair have also launched a Sunday run club with a 5k run starting from the Hub at 8am, followed by a post-run
plunge. People are encouraged to take it easy and run at whatever speed they wish. The aim is for this to be a social event, an opportunity to catch up with friends and to feel revitalised. www.revitalisehub.co.ukIt is hoped that people living, working and traveling in the Waterside area will benefit from recently improved cycleways and footpaths, making local journeys easier. The new links between Eling and Holbury have been upgraded with new road crossings, widened footpaths and cycle paths, and better signage. The enhanced cycleways and footpaths between Eling and Holbury connect to and from Southampton, Totton, Marchwood and Hythe, and also link to the Southampton City Council Cycle Network route 1. Noadswood School pupils said they felt safer cycling and walking following the upgrade.
