Farewell and thanks after 45 years of friendship at Fernhill

After an incredible 45 years of bringing warmth, company and celebration to the residents of Fernhill Court, the Friends of Fernhill has now drawn to a close.

The group of dedicated volunteers has been a vital social lifeline over the years, organising everything from parties and entertainment to quiet companionship over a cup of tea. For many residents, especially those without regular visits from family, the Friends of Fernhill offered not just activities, but meaningful connection and kindness.

In May, a farewell cream tea was held to mark the end of an era. Though the group will no longer meet in its original form, volunteers have promised to stay in touch with residents and maintain the bonds that have meant so much to so many.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the volunteers whose time, care and commitment made it all possible: Ann Maunder, Janet and Tom Webber, Val Halfacre, Val Hayes, Sandra Lee, Rebecca Richardson and Liz Dalton.
Their kindness has left a lasting legacy at Fernhill Court.
