An iconic Southampton pub is back on the social scene after a £600,000 makeover.

During its six months closure, The Hobbit in Portswood has had a unique fantasy-themed revamp.

Features include a burrow like bar with faux round windows, a moss wall and one of the biggest beer gardens in the city centre.

The legendary watering hole also has a dungeon styled live music room and a new outdoor stage which will boost its reputation for music and festivals for up to 500 people.

A new menu of food and drink will complement the fantasy theme and 10 new jobs have been created.
