NEW SPORT AND LEISURE PARK AT BAR END

Sporting life has taken a huge leap at Winchester with the opening of a new state-of-the-art leisure centre.

Facilities at Bar End include a 50m 8 lane swimming pool, a 20m x 10m training pool, multi-use sports hall, 200 station gym, 3 group exercise studios, a climbing facility, squash courts, a hydrotherapy suite including treatment rooms, a sports hall, 4 glass-backed squash courts and there will be access for those with disabilities. It will also be home for their partner, Sparx Beauty.

The Crussh café near to the entrance will offer healthy refreshments which can be enjoyed on the sun terrace.

Cllr Malcolm Prince, Cabinet Member for Sport, Leisure and Communities, said: “The centre will provide residents and visitors with incredible sport and leisure facilities and help bring our communities together to be healthy and active. We look forward to a celebration event later in the year.
