Plans have been lodged for a massive scheme at The Ageas Bowl, the home of Hampshire cricket.

An application has been lodged on behalf of the cricket club for 185 homes, care home, a hotel, wellbeing centre, new pavilion building and stadium in Botley Road. They would be a mixture of one-to-four-bedroom homes which would be of a contemporary urban form to fit in with the cricket complex.

More parking is in the pipeline with a new parking area of 717 spaces for event days and changes to the Hilton Hotel parking area to add 219 extra spaces. The new wellbeing centre would be for a small-scale health related issues such as sports therapy, physiotherapy sessions, baby scanning, a GP consultation space, therapy facilities and opticians. It might also include a gym, pharmacy, and Pilates studio. Some local residents have expressed traffic fears over the already congested Botley Road. Eastleigh Council is expected to make a decision by 6 December.

The Ageas Bowl site already contributes £50 million to the economy each year.
