“A lot of people lack the ability, practice or confidence to sing in tune,” says Sharon Marnell (pictured) who runs a Tuneless Choir in Locks Heath and Stubbington for those who would love to sing in a choir but know they can’t carry a tune.

The Locks Heath sessions take place on Thursdays at 7:30pm: St Margaret Mary’s, Middle Road, Locks Heath, SO31 7GH and on Tuesdays in Stubbington at Holy Rood Church, Gosport Road, PO14 2AS. “I love the feeling that comes from sharing the joy of singing like no one is listening with people who love to sing regardless of their own or anyone else’s aptitude.”

“There are no vocal parts, no judgement, no pressure to improve, just joy and laughter. We’ll give ourselves a massive round of applause when we’ve got through a song, because no one else will!”

The choir will wail their way through classic hits, from Abba to Zeppelin, with genres from Pop to Country, Rock to Reggae and Musicals to Motown.
