DOWNS AND WEALD REVEALED

The inaugural Petersfield Walking Festival will be taking place in 20 – 27 August.
Nestled at the foot of the South Downs, where dramatic chalk scarp meets patchwork weald, heavily wooded sandstone hills and colourful open heath, Petersfield is the striking location for this exciting new walking festival.

Knowledgeable, volunteer leaders have planned a wide variety of free walks including: circuits around charming pubs, beauty spots and places of local interest; a selection of wellness, foraging and natural mindfulness strolls; long-distance linear routes and sunrise hill climbs for the more athletic; family-friendly strolls to Sky Park deer farm and along the river Meon with Instagram’s Ambling Path; and a walk and wine tasting at a local vineyard…..to name just a few of the exciting walks on the programme.

This weeklong event in August is for habitual hikers, seasonal striders, weekend wanderers and amateur adventurers alike. With more than 40 walks on offer there is something for everyone. Go to the website to find free walks to suit your ability, dates and interests.
