Hampshire’s free-to-attend charity festival The Big Eat returns for a fourth year this May and this time with a celebrity guest. Once more Royal Victoria Country Park, Netley, will be stuffed full of street food vendors from across the south in a celebration of local food and talent with all profits donated to local food banks. Running across the bank holiday weekend, 24-26 May, MasterChef UK 2023 Champion Chariya Khattiyot will be officially opening the festival as well as trading at the event – which is great news for all foodies! Food vendors will battle to earn a Hampshire Street Food Award, with categories such as Best Pizza and Best Vegan. The event is perfect for all ages and features live music, a new dog show in partnership with Hamble Hounds, plus circus skills, Punch & Judy shows, petting zoo and more.
Jeremy Gaskin, Director, Big Eat CIC, said: “The Big Eat has now established itself as a much-loved annual event that sees the community come together to celebrate good food. Last year we welcomed 28,000 people to our festival and raised £5,000 for Hound Basics Food Bank in Netley.”
