AFFORDABLE HOUSING UNDERWAY IN FAREHAM
Located in Fareham town centre, the development at Queens Road will deliver two three-bedroom homes. These houses will be made available at a Social Rent (the most affordable of affordable homes) and will be occupied by households from Fareham Borough Council’s housing register.
The homes have been specifically designed to reflect the character of the area as well as being wheelchair accessible and energy efficient. Features will include solar PV panels and air source heat pumps to provide heating and hot water, supporting the Council’s commitment to be carbon neutral across its buildings and services by 2030.
There are also two nearby Council owned properties at Arundel Drive. These are being converted to five-bedroom homes with disabled accessible bedrooms and a downstairs wet room. Larger properties, particularly those which are disabled accessible, rarely become available. These new homes will help to meet the specific needs for some of the larger families on the Council’s Housing Register.
